Season Outline

Here’s a comprehensive overview of what an NCPA JUNIOR season entails. While seasons may differ based on location and age group, this guide covers everything from pre-season preparation to league play, playoffs, post-season activities, and junior tour qualifications. Exact details are subject to change and vary by team. Coaches will have the most up to date information.

2018-2016 (6-8 YEARS OLD)

  • January - February: Time Off

  • March: Tryouts First Two Weekends of March + Registration

  • April: Teams Formed Practice Starts after Spring Break Once Per Week

  • May: Team practice twice a week (club curriculum implementation begins) Exhibition Matches

  • June - August: Team practice twice a week Summer tournaments (varies by team) Summer break (dates TBD) Team Camp

  • August-December: League Play begins late August and ends early December) 1-2 games per weekend (no Sunday games)

    • Continue regular practice schedule twice a week

  • December: Giving Back Fundraiser Friendlies Holiday Tournament (varies by team)

    • Christmas break.

2015-2011 (9-13 YEARS OLD) COMPETITIVE

  • March: Tryouts Last Two Weekends of March + Registration Order Uniforms + Order Uniforms

  • April: Team practice once a week/Team bonding activities Pre Season Spring League Friendlies on weekends

  • May: Team practice twice a week Pre Season Spring League Friendlies on weekends Summer tournaments begin (varies by team)

  • June: Team practice twice a week

    • Girls team training camps

    • Summer tournaments (varies by team) (City) Cup

  • July: Team Practice twice a week

    • Boys team training camps

    • Summer Tournaments (varies by team) (City) Cup

  • August: Team practice twice a week Summer tournaments (varies by team) Coastal Classic (name varies by location)

  • August - December: League Play begins late August and ends early December) 1-2 games per weekend (no Sunday games)

    • Club Day (Picture Day)

    • Teams Break for High School Early October

**14-18 year olds in High School tryout for High School teams (November) and break for the high school season thru Feb/March. 14-18 year olds NOT in high school attend combined training sessions 1-2 times per week to stay sharp for post-season play.

 

  • December: Post Season Tournaments + Fundraises open to family and friends. Holiday break mid- December.

  • January-February: Practices resume after New Years Day Post season tournament play ((City) Premier Cup) - select teams only.

  • April: Tryouts First Two Weekends of April + Registration Teams Selected

  • May: Team practice begins Pre Season Spring League Friendlies

    • Summer tournaments begin (varies by team)

    • Order Uniforms

  • June: Team practice twice a week

    • Girls team training camps

    • Summer tournaments (varies by team) (City) Cup

  • July: Team Practice twice a week

    • Boys team training camps

    • Summer Tournaments (varies by team) (City) Cup

  • August: Team practice twice a week

    • Summer tournaments (varies by team) Coastal Classic (name varies by location)​

    • Team practice 2-3 times per week (varies by level)

    • Teams Break for High School Early October

  • December - February: Players playing with high school teams. Combined practices for 14-18 year olds not in high school yet and players not playing for high school teams

  • March: Players return from high school teams

    • Time Off until tryouts.

LEAGUE PLAY

  • The league starts in August and ends early December.

  • Details:

    • Minimum two match days per month (Saturdays). Number of matches on those days depends on the number of teams in any given age bracket.

    • View Format

    • Round robin style and top teams in the league will qualify for playoffs.

    • Local playoffs will become qualifiers for Regionals, then Nationals (the junior tour).
